The purpose of this initiative is continuous collaboration, preparedness and improvements for local, state and federal first responders to address tactical, radiological, nuclear and chemical scenarios and to enhance future operations.

Traffic Advisory: Temporary Signal Outage at S. Liberty and Poydras Streets

The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning Monday, March 18, the Department of Public Works (DPW) in conjunction with Hard Rock Construction, LLC will perform electrical work at the intersection of South Liberty and Poydras Streets. While work is ongoing, crews do not anticipate lane closures along Poydras Street. However, the traffic light will be temporarily out, and stop signs will be placed at the intersection.

Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Shift Extended on North Claiborne Avenue and Flood Street Intersection

The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning, Monday, March 18, Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor, Command Construction Industries, LLC, will extend the lane reduction in the 5400 block of North Claiborne Avenue for an additional two months, until May 20, to resume the remaining utility work.

On May 7, 2018, LaToya Cantrell made history as New Orleans’ first woman mayor in its 300-year history. After that historic victory, Mayor Cantrell was inaugurated to a second term on January 10, 2022. Her passion for the City of Yes and her dedication to its residents remains stronger than ever.

Mayor Cantrell remains focused on the issues of public safety, infrastructure, affordable housing and improving the quality of life for all New Orleans residents.
