Movies in the Park -- Fostering Strong Communities

Since Fall of 2011, over 5,000 people have attended 52 family-friendly movies in neighborhood parks all across New Orleans.   

  • Movies in the Park events are free & open to the public. They are not intended for private showings.
  • Event security & staff hold the right to deny admittance and remove patrons.
  • Participants may bring blankets or lawn chairs. Bug spray is optional.
  • Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, and weapons are prohibited.
  • Movies in the Park events are smoke-free environments.
  • No cooking or grilling on the premises.
  • Cooler/bags and snacks are allowed, but subject to search.
  • Tents or any other objects that would obstruct the view of others are prohibited.
  • No reserved seating. First-come, first-serve basis.
  • Movies may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances.

    All movies are on Friday evenings. Movies start about 7:30 (sunset), but come early to relax with friends and family.

Partner with NORDC to Host a Movies in the Park Event  
Partners for the Spring 2013 events have been selected. Please check back for the Fall 2013 application details.
NORDC works in partnership with neighborhood organizations (Booster Clubs, Non-profits and Community Organizations) that wish to host free family-friendly movies in public parks or playgrounds. This is great opportunity to bring your community together for a fun evening, promote your neighborhood organization, recruit new volunteers, and advertise community events.
