New Local Historic Districts Proposal

At the request of the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission, the City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the Historic District Study Committee Reports recommending the creation of four new local historic districts: Uptown, Carrollton, Mid City, and Parkview. The public hearing will be part of the City Planning Commission’s regular meeting at 1:30pm, August 23, 2016 in the City Council Chambers. Master Plan Amendment Application Deadline Extension

City Planning Commission Announces Master Plan Amendment Application Deadline Extension to September 9, 2016

 

Given the necessary preparation for and potential impact of the weather system entering the Gulf of Mexico, the City Planning Commission will extend the August 31, 2016 deadline for proposed Master Plan amendments to September 9, 2016. This will allow our citizens and officials to focus on their readiness for effective storm contingencies.

Affordable Housing Impact Statements Study

In accordance with City Council Motion M-16-167, the City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on July 12, 2016 on how affordable housing impacts can be assessed as part of land-use and building applications in the City of New Orleans. The CPC will study and consider the use of affordable housing impact statements and recommend potential changes to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and other applicable codes, if necessary.

Capital Improvement Plan 2017-2021

The City Planning Commission is required under Section 5-402 of the Home Rule Charter to prepare a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the City of New Orleans and to assist in the preparation of the City’s annual capital budget.  The City Planning Commission will begin holding public hearings with each City agency requesting capital funds from June 24, 2016 to July 22, 2016.

One Stop Shop changes operating hours

Beginning on August 8, 2013, the One Stop will close to the public at 3:30 P.M. on Fridays in order to hold staff meetings and trainings.  

Operating Hours
Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Friday 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Planning and Zoning Lookup Tool is now the Property Viewer

The Planning and Zoning Lookup Tool is now called the Property Viewer.  Zoning, Future Land Use, Draft Zoning, and Ownership information can be obtained on the new Property Viewer.
