On June 19th, 2014, New Orleans Deputy Chief Cedric Palmisano was named as one of Mayor Landrieu's Outstanding Employees for the first quarter of the calendar year. Nominations for the award can come from colleagues or New Orleans residents, and are meant to recognize city employees for their dedication and commitment to both the community and the City of New Orleans. Mr. Palmisano was recently appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of Special Operations and Logistics, and has served with New Orleans EMS since 1996.
According to a press release from the Mayor's Office dated June 19th, "Mayor Landrieu met with each employee and presented them with a proclamation. The recipients were also recognized at the City Council meeting today, and were presented with a framed proclamation and City pin. These five high-performing individuals were acknowledged for their contribution to citywide and departmental goals and their commitment to City values. “I am happy to recognize these dedicated individuals and I am thankful for their commitment to our city,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “We are working every day to build a safer and stronger New Orleans, and our employees play a major role in making that happen.”
The City launched the Mayor’s Outstanding Employee Award Program in the first quarter of 2013, recognizing employees who demonstrate an outstanding contribution to City and departmental goals, and exemplify the City’s values of integrity, excellence, transparency, teamwork, responsiveness, innovation, diversity, and inclusion.
