Police Commander: Robert Norton

Commander Norton has been a member of the New Orleans Police Department for over 20 years and has been serving as commander of the 1st Police District since April of 2008, and will remain the Commander of the 1st District. Cmdr. Norton has also served in a provisional position of Police Major and is a former N.O.P.D. Medal of Valor recipient. Commander Norton currently holds an Associate Degree in Social Science and has successfully completed an extensive number of both State and Federal professional training courses.

The 1st District coverage responsibilities include patrol of areas such as Treme and Mid-City.
