FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NOLAWISE LAUNCHES POWERFUL ENERGY SAVINGS MARKETING CAMPAIGN

Mayor Mitch Landrieu and hometown Treme star Wendell Pierce star in an ambitious marketing campaign kicking off this week to encourage homeowners to use the NOLA Wise one stop program to help residents make their homes more energy efficient. The City of New Orleans, in a public private partnership with a team of non-profits, businesses, and the federal energy interests led by Global Green, have launched the multi-media references to expert, certified contractors, and help with financing and incentives.

The campaign, using TV, radio, print, social media and community outreach will run in saturated flights through at least the spring.

A robust response to the mayor’s initial news conference is expected to grow in momentum. Global Green and its team have already received over 400 inquiries and are conducting dozens of energy audits throughout the city and are ready to handle the calls with now seven contractors certified to work with customers.

The campaign will also be showcased at Global Green’s Green 100 VIP Reception tonight at Second Line Studios and tomorrow at its Inaugural Clean Energy/Green Economy Forum to be held in collaboration with Idea Village at Kingsley House. To see the TV spot visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL5yQzREt_k  and for more information contact Camille Lopez at 504.525.2121.

The program was made possible by funding from the City of New Orleans, U.S. Department of Energy, and the Southeast Energy Efficiency. Team members also include Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank and Green Coast Enterprises. For more information call Camille Lopez at 504.525.2121.
