2015 Healthcare Plan for Employees of the City of New Orleans
In 2015, there will be no major changes to your Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits. Copay, coinsurance, and deductibles will stay the same.
However, due to expected increases in overall healthcare costs, for many employees and retirees, payroll contributions toward health insurance premiums will increase.
Open Enrollment for the City’s Healthcare Insurance Plan occurs once per year as designated by the CAO Benefits Administration. Employees are notified of their opportunity to enroll in, or make changes to their health insurance plan.
Open Enrollment applies to you if:
You wish to start coverage,
You wish to decline coverage,
You are a current employee who wishes to add or drop dependents and/or spouses/domestic partners,
You want to update your pre-tax or post-tax deductions (healthcare, FSA, voluntary products).
Active employees who do NOT wish to enroll in the City’s healthcare plan coverage still need to complete the Enrollment Form. On the form, employees should indicate that they decline the City’s Choice Plus Plan coverage for the 2015 plan year. Employees who want to add/ drop dependents or spouses/domestic partners, or update pre-tax and post-tax elections, must complete Change of Status Form, which can be obtained from your department's Human Resource Manager or Personnel Officer.
The enrollment form must be submitted to your Human Resource Manager/Personnel Officer directly to ensure compliance and coverage, no exceptions.
Participation in the Wellness Program can save employees $180 to $360 per year off of their health care premium contributions.
