Programs

The New Orleans Health Department oversees four federally funded programs that work to provide health services to New Orleans residents. 

Healthy Start New Orleans

Healthy Start New Orleans provides services and referrals to residents of Orleans Parish who are pregnant or parenting children under the age of two.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education and referrals to other health and social services for pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants and children up to 5 years of age.

Health Care for the Homeless

Health Care for the Homeless provides comprehensive primary care services to homeless persons in the city of New Orleans and surrounding parishes.

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program

The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program administers federal Ryan White Part A funds for the New Orleans metropolitan area. Part A funding provides medical and support services for people living with HIV and AIDS.
