City Announces Plans for Redevelopment of Historic St. Roch Market

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans announced plans to complete the redevelopment of the historic St. Roch Market located at 2382 St. Claude Avenue. The City, through its public benefit corporation the New Orleans Building Corporation which manages the St. Roch Market, has selected Bayou Secret, LLC to operate the building.

New Orleans Getting $24.6 to Build ADA-Accessible Sidewalk Ramps

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced the City of New Orleans will receive a $24.6 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to build sidewalk ramps that will accommodate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

City and Sewerage and Water Board Announce New Plan to Coordinate Infrastructure Management

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Yesterday, the Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined the leaders of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB) to announce a new plan to coordinate infrastructure management. Under a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the City of New Orleans and S&WB, an Integrated Infrastructure Management System will be created to coordinate all infrastructure projects and repairs to ensure that they are performed properly and in a timely manner.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined the Hospital Service District A (HSD), U.S. Congressman Cedric Richmond, State Senator J.P. Morrell, State Representative Wesley Bishop, LCMC Health CEO Greg Feirn, the New Orleans City Council and residents of New Orleans East, Gentilly and the Lower Ninth Ward to celebrate the accreditation and grand opening of the new, state-of-the-art New Orleans East Hospital.

New Orleans Department Superintendent Ronal Serpas Announces Retirement: District 7 Commander Michael Harrison Named Interim Chief

NEW ORLEANS, LA— New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Superintendent Ronal W. Serpas, Ph.D., announced today that he will be retiring after more than 30 years of public service. Serpas was hired as NOPD Superintendent in May 2010.

Mayor Landrieu and Council Member Ramsey to Hold District C Meeting on Monday

NEW ORLEANS, LA – On Monday, August 18, 2014 Mayor Mitch Landrieu will launch a series of community meetings in each council district to discuss 2015 budget priorities. The first meeting will be co-hosted by District C Councilmember Nadine Ramsey. They will be joined by Deputy Mayors, NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas, NOFD Superintendent Tim McConnell and department and agency heads.

City Houses Homesless Individuals From Under Pontchartrain Expressway

NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, in keeping with Mayor Landrieu’s efforts to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness in New Orleans, the City announced that it has sheltered 84 homeless individuals formerly living underneath the U.S. 90/Pontchartrain Expressway overpass from South Claiborne Avenue to St. Charles Avenue.
