NEW ORLEANS, LA —Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to residents and businesses near Old Gentilly Road.
Due to a film production conducting filming, Old Gentilly Road between Michoud Blvd. and Chef Menteur Blvd. will be closed on Tuesday May 1st thru Thursday, May 3rd from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
All Non-Local Traffic will be directed to Chef Menteur Blvd. Please note that during the course of the filming activity, black smoke, occasional special effect explosions and simulated gunfire will occur.
Law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic flow.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs.
