NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
Beginning on Thursday, June 7th and extending through Monday, June 11th (excluding Sunday the 10th) the 800, 900 and 1000 blocks of Richard Street as well as the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Annunciation Street and the 1600 block of Constance Street will be closed to through traffic from 6AM until 8PM.
Law enforcement officers will be assisting with the traffic implementation and will be on hand to ensure the safety of the neighborhood during the closure.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs.
