SOS NOLA Midnight Basketball League continues on Saturday

September 29, 2012

NEW ORLEANS, LA—Saturday night, the SOS NOLA Midnight Basketball League will return.  The opening tournament kicked off January 14, 2012. Since then, the program has seen a great response from the community. SOS NOLA Midnight Basketball is free of charge and open to males over 16 years old. The City is partnering with the New Orleans Hornets and PlayNOLA.

SOS NOLA Midnight Basketball League is another initiative of the Mayor’s SOS NOLA: Saving Our Sons campaign. In September 2011, Mayor Landrieu held a citywide Crime Action Summit with over 2,000 citizens in attendance and over 600 residents and leaders from the business, faith-based and nonprofit community committing to doing their part to help end the cycle of violent crime and murder in the city.

Saving Our Sons and SOS NOLA Midnight Basketball are both initiatives of Mayor Landrieu’s NOLA for LIFE plan.
