New Orleans property tax bills available on nola.gov

December 21, 2012

NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the City announced that property tax bills are now available for viewing on the City’s website and will be sent to all property owners in Orleans Parish beginning December 26, 2012. Property tax payments are due on Thursday, January 31, 2013.

Citizens may view and pay their property tax bills online by visiting http://www.nola.gov/pay-taxes. To pay online, you will need your tax bill number. Credit or debit card payments are accepted, but a 2.49% processing fee is added. There is no convenience fee to pay using your checking account.

Citizens may also mail their payments to P. O. Box 60047, New Orleans, LA  70160-0047. Using the payment stub provided on the bill will ensure accurate posting. Mailed payments must be postmarked by January 31, 2013 to receive timely credit.

The City strongly recommends using online payment or mailing in a payment this year, rather than paying in person at City Hall. There are likely to be very significant traffic and parking issues in the vicinity of City Hall in January due to the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras events.

For questions about property tax payments, please call the Bureau of the Treasury at (888) 387-8027.
