City issues traffic advisory in advance of 2013 NOLA New Year's Eve celebration

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans issued a traffic advisory for the 2013 NOLA New Year’s Eve celebration in front of Jackson Square in the French Quarter scheduled for Monday, December 31.

In preparation for the 2013 NOLA New Year’s Eve concert and countdown celebration in front of Jackson Square, Decatur Street will be limited to one lane of traffic each way beginning at 8:00 a.m. on New Year’s Eve from Dumaine Street to St. Louis Street. Decatur Street from Wilkinson Street to Madison Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7:00 p.m. through 2:00 a.m. New Year’s Day.

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
