City releases 2012 year end ResultsNOLA report

February 15, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA— Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu released the 2012 Year End ResultsNOLA report on departmental performance. This is the eighth ResultsNOLA report.

The 2012 Year End ResultsNOLA report can be accessed here.

“This report reflects our progress and challenges in 2012,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “City departments worked aggressively to meet and exceed performance targets, especially on quality of life issues for our residents. Our neighborhoods are better places to live when we are hitting these important marks."

The City issues quarterly ResultsNOLA reports that outline goals for the year and progress towards meeting those goals. The 2012 Year End ResultsNOLA report, which is easy to read for the public, shows that a majority of City departments’ targets were met or exceeded. With emphasis on quality of life issues, highlights include:

  • 61% increase in the number of catch basins cleaned compared to 2011;
  • 13% increase in the number of potholes filled compared to 2011; and
  • 43% increase in number of tax and public nuisance cases filed before the Alcoholic Beverage Outlet Board compared to 2011.

In addition:

  • The Cityis showing significant progress in paying City vendors in a timely manner; and
  • The City remains on track to meet Mayor Landrieu's goal of reducing the number of blighted properties by 10,000 by 2014.

Overall, Mayor Landrieu has committed to dramatically improving the accountability, transparency and performance of New Orleans city government. In January 2011, Mayor Landrieu created the Office of Performance and Accountability to implement a performance management system for the City, where the analysis of data is used to promote better results and to demonstrate the public’s return on investment for their tax dollars. In addition to the ResultsNOLA report, the Office of Performance and Accountability has implemented public data-driven performance and review meetings, including BlightStat and QualityofLifeSTAT for key cross-departmental strategic issues.

The ResultsNOLA report released today is the eighth comprehensive report of each City department’s performance and a continued fulfillment of Mayor Landrieu’s commitment to a better, more accountable government.
