NEW ORLEANS, LA – The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) is gearing up for festive and fun activities for kids and families this Halloween.
On Thursday, October 31 at 4 p.m., NORDC and Fit NOLA Parks will host a “Thriller” dance mob at Duncan Plaza directly in front of City Hall, 1300 Perdido Street. Led by Loyola dance instructor Kenneth “Kynt” Bryan, the dance pays tribute to Michael Jackson’s iconic 1983 video. Bryan will give lessons at NORDC’s Movies in the Park event today at Sampson Playground, 3100 Louisa Street. The dance lesson begins at 6:15 pm followed by a free screening of “The Smurfs” at 7 pm. Bryan has also taught the dance before other recent Movies in the Park screenings.
Residents are also invited to celebrate a happy and safe Halloween NORDC at four recreation centers from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 31 for kids 13 and younger.
Each center will have free treats, dancing, Halloween games, and costume contests with NORDC staff, booster clubs, community organizations, and members of the NORDC Teen Council.
