NEW ORLEANS, LA – Residents and businesses in a limited area of Venetian Isles will experience low water pressure as a result of a water main break caused during work by a contractor. The repair is expected to take between four to five hours. Following the repair of the water line, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect for the following streets in the area: Genoa, Murano, Alba, Francesco, San Marco, Naples, Fort McComb, Veronese, Burton, and Lucrino. The area also includes the Palm Villa Marina.
The Sewerage and Water Board, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory that will be in effect until further notice.
The Board is recommending that customers disinfect their water by boiling it for one minute and letting it cool down prior to consumption (including, drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, bathing or preparing food).
This precautionary boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice for customers in this limited area. The Sewerage and Water Board will notify residents when the advisory is lifted. If you have any questions, please call 52WATER (529-2837).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOILING
Boil water for one full minute in a clear container. The one minute boil time begins after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (If there is a flat taste, it can be eliminated by shaking the water in a bottle or pouring it from one container to another).
