City issues traffic advisory in advance of 28th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Memorial March

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans issued a traffic advisory for the 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Memorial March scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2014. 

Beginning at 9:45 a.m., the 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Memorial March will depart from City Hall located at 1300 Perdido Street and proceed to Loyola Avenue, turn right and proceed on Loyola Avenue to Simon Bolivar Avenue, proceed on Simon Bolivar Avenue to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, turn right and proceed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to South Claiborne Avenue, turn left on South Claiborne Avenue to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial located in the neutral ground at the intersection of South Claiborne Avenue and Felicity Street.  

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
