NEW ORLEANS, LA— Today, the City announced that the Bureau of Revenue will accept new applications for artists interested in operating on Jackson Square on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 8am in advance of the NBA All-Star game and Mardi Gras. This year’s deadline was previously extended after weather-related City Hall closures and is now being reset in response to miscommunication from the Bureau about the extension date.
“The Bureau of Revenue apologizes for any inconvenience caused to individuals who have come to City Hall to secure a new Jackson Square artists permit. To ensure proper notice and that every applicant has an equal opportunity to obtain a permit this year, the Bureau of Revenue will issue the available permits on a first come, first served basis,” said Chief Administrative Officer Andrew Kopplin.
All artists interested in obtaining an annual Occupational License and Mayoralty Permit must submitted a completed registration application or provided proof of an existing artist account to the Bureau of Revenue located on the 1st floor of City Hall, Room 1W15. More information about these permits can be found on the City’s website by following this link or by calling the Department of Finance, Bureau of Revenue, Application Unit, at (504) 658-1630 or (504) 658-1644.
