City issues reminder of parking instructions and traffic restrictions in advance of 2014 Krewe Du Vieux Parade

NEW ORLEANS, LA— Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the 2014 Krewe Du Vieux Parade scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2014. 

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the parade will form at Elysian Fields Avenue and Chartres Street. The parade will proceed on Charters Street to Franklin Avenue, proceed on Franklin Avenue to Royal Street, turn left onto Royal Street and proceed to Conti Street, turn left onto Conti Street and proceed to Decatur Street, turn left on Decatur Street and proceed against traffic to Frenchmen Street, turn left onto Frenchman Street left and proceed to Royal Street, turn right onto Royal Street and proceed against traffic to Elysian Fields Avenue, turn right onto Elysian Fields Avenue and proceed to Charters Street where the parade will disband. 

Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
