NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy along with New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC) and Jefferson Parish announced its film industry training program for production assistants, PA Boot Camp. The boot camp is scheduled for August 23-24, 2014, at the Ashé Cultural Arts Center at 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.
PA Boot Camp is an intensive workshop designed to prepare attendees for entry level jobs in the booming New Orleans film industry. This two-day intensive training is taught by industry professionals who will provide instruction on production protocol, etiquette and techniques for obtaining a job in the film industry.
“As the film industry continues to grow in New Orleans, the City is committed to providing workforce training programs which will provide locals an opportunity to compete for jobs on productions which are here filming feature films and televisions series,” said Scott Hutcheson, Advisor to the Mayor for Cultural Economy.
PA Boot Camp is a competitive program with limited enrollment. Interested candidates can find an application for the training on NOVAC’s website.
