Mayor Landrieu, Stirling Properties and JCH Development celebrate the start of construction of $24.4 million Magnolia Marketplace in Central City

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined representatives from Stirling Properties and JCH Development, and local officials to celebrate the start of construction on Magnolia Marketplace, a $24.4 million shopping center that will fill a retail gap in the heart of Central City along the Claiborne Avenue corridor and create more than 200 full-time jobs.

City activates freeze plan for homeless

NEW ORLEANS, LA — The weather forecast indicates the temperature or wind chill factor in New Orleans is expected to fall to 35 degrees or below overnight on Friday, January 17, 2014. All citizens should take appropriate precautions to protect themselves from the potentially dangerous effects of this weather. Citizens are encouraged to check on neighbors and the elderly to make sure they are prepared.

Mayor Landrieu, City officials welcome iconic Circle Food Store back to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA  Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined owner Dwayne Boudreaux and key partners to reopen the iconic Circle Food Store at 1522 St. Bernard Avenue. The historic market, which had been closed since 2005 due to damage sustained during Hurricane Katrina, underwent an $8 million renovation.

Ribbon cutting scheduled for historic Circle Food Store

NEW ORLEANS, LA — TOMORROW, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join owner Dwayne Boudreaux and City and State officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Circle Food Store. The historic market, which has been closed since 2005 to damage from Hurricane Katrina, has undergone an $8 million renovation.
