NORDC continues Movies in the Park

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will continue the fall Movies in the Park series with “The Smurfs,” tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Sampson Playground,  3100 Louisa Street in the Desire neighborhood. The Sampson Booster Club is hosting this week’s film.

City reaches agreement on two sanitation contracts

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that the City successfully reached agreements with two of its sanitation contractors, Metro Disposal and Richard’s Disposal, to extend their respective solid waste collection contracts for two consecutive years which will maintain current per-unit costs through 2016.

City will award new Accessible Taxicab CPNCs to eight drivers

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans Taxicab and For-Hire Vehicle Bureau announced that eight drivers will be awarded new Accessible Taxicab Certificates of Public Necessity and Convenience (CPNC). The new CPNC, part of the City’s comprehensive taxicab reforms, will expand transportation options for people with disabilities by permitting qualified drivers to operate taxicabs that meet American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
