Mayor Landrieu to Honor New Orleanians for Commitment to Equity, Peace, Unity and Racial Reconciliation

NEW ORLEANS – On Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will host New Orleans Together, an event honoring New Orleans residents who work toward equity, peace, unity and racial reconciliation. New Orleans Together will feature an appearance by Grammy Award Winner India.Arie as well as locally and nationally-acclaimed artist and activist Brandan “Bmike” Odums, singer Robin Barnes, the Cole Williams Band and Tysson.

Mayor Landrieu, OPSB, City Officials Host Dedication Ceremony for Youth Study Center’s Travis Hill School

NEW ORLEANS—Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu along with Orleans Parish School Board Superintendent Henderson Lewis and Youth Study Center officials hosted a dedication ceremony for the Travis Hill School (1100 Milton St.) housed in the Youth Study Center (YSC) – New Orleans’ Juvenile Detention Center.

NEW ORLEANS - TOMORROW, Mayor Mitch Landrieu along with officials from the Orleans Parish School Board will host a dedication ceremony for the new Travis Hill School, which is housed at the Youth Study Center (YSC) –New Orleans’ juvenile detention center. This dedication ceremony will highlight the impact Travis Hill School is making inside of the YSC and honor the life of the late New Orleans musician Travis Hill.

City Issues Reminder of Parking Instructions and Traffic Restrictions in Advance of 2017 Joan of Arc Parade

NEW ORLEANS — Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the 2017 Joan of Arc Parade scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2017. The public is encouraged to be patient and to prepare for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the specified areas by making transportation arrangements accordingly.

Mayor Landrieu Kicks off 2017 Carnival Season

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Jan. 6, 2017, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, city officials and representatives from Carnival organizations welcomed the start of the 2017 Carnival season with the celebratory cutting of the king cake during “Kings Day.”
