City Announces Deployment of Additional Traffic Safety Cameras

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans announced the locations of and deployment schedule for additional traffic safety cameras beginning Monday, January 9. The new cameras were previously announced during the 2017 budget process.  The new deployment, which will be rolled out through April, will include 45 permanently-fixed traffic safety cameras and 10 mobile traffic safety camera units.

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans announced that City Hall will be closed to the public on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 and Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Curbside Glass Recycling to End in the French Quarter and Downtown Development District

NEW ORLEANS – On Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, curbside glass recycling will end in the French Quarter and the Downtown Development District (DDD). Beginning Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation will add glass to its list of items accepted at the City’s Recycling Drop-Off Center (2829 Elysian Fields Ave.) on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu reminded residents that the City will continue its program of recycling Christmas trees in an effort to promote the restoration of Louisiana’s wetlands and to assist in the protection of the Louisiana coastline.

City Announces City Hall Holiday Closures

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans announced that City Hall will be closed to the public on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 and Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, in observance of the Christmas holiday. City Celebrates Success of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Season Thirteen

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced the completion of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Season Thirteen. NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball provides safe recreational opportunities in crime hot spots for young men through mentorship, support and basketball. Since its inaugural season in 2012, Midnight Basketball has reached more than 8,450 participants and 3,580 spectators.
