NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the 7th Annual San Fermin in Nueva Orleans “The Running of the Bulls” parade scheduled for the Saturday, July 13, 2013. As many as 14,000 runners are anticipated to participate.

Mayor Landrieu, City And State officials, and FEMA announce reopening of restored Norwood Thompson Playground

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, City and State officials, and FEMA announced the reopening of the newly renovated Norwood Thompson Playground at 7200 Forshey Street in Gert Town. This park was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. In total, $848,000 in improvements were made to the Norwood Thompson Playground.

Mayor Landrieu appoints Tim McConnell as eleventh Superintendent of New Orleans Fire Department

NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu named Timothy A. McConnell the eleventh Superintendent of the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD). As Superintendent, Chief McConnell will oversee nearly 700 fire personnel and 31 fire stations that operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
