Mayor Mitch Landrieu to Host the NOLA FOR LIFE Symposium

NEW ORLEANS, LA—TODAY, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will host the NOLA FOR LIFE Symposium to allow New Orleans residents to take on the hard-hitting issues that contribute to violence in our community. During the two-day dialogue, participants will explore and set actionable goals to address broader issues contributing to the homicide rate in New Orleans—race, equity, education, income inequality, and the criminal justice system.

Citizens to Contact Registrar of Voters with Voting Questions

NEW ORLEANS, LA – On Saturday, Dec. 6, polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Registrar of Voters with any questions or problems voting.  Voters can identify their polling locations by name, parish or address here. Voters must bring a valid ID to their polling location.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu Issues Statement on Staten Island, New York Grand Jury Decision

NEW ORLEANS, LA– In light of the Staten Island, New York grand jury's decision to not indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the chokehold death of Eric Garner, Mayor Mitch Landrieu released the following statement: 

“America's promise pledges indivisibility and justice for all, yet we are divided by race, class and inequity. The most challenging issues on the streets of our cities are now on display.

NEW ORLEANS, LA— On Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, Mayor Mitch Landrieu introduced the leadership charged with developing New Orleans’ 300th anniversary celebration activities in 2018. The 2018 Commission will organize international, national and local partners for the planning of celebrations in honor of the city’s history and future.

NORDC Announces 2014 Thanksgiving Schedule

NEW ORLEANS, LA— All New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) recreation centers, tennis centers & pools will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2014 and Friday, November 28, 214 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

City Hall Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans announced that City Hall will be closed Thursday, November 27, 2014 and Friday, November 28, 2014 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency personnel will operate as normal and will not be affected by this closure.

City Hall will resume normal business hours on Monday, December 1, 2014.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu Issues Statement on Ferguson

NEW ORLEANS, LA– In light of the Ferguson, Missouri grand jury decison, Mayor Mitch Landrieu released the following statement:

"Today I pray for the Brown family and everyone in Ferguson. In the United States we remain divided. Divided by race. Divided by poverty. We live a block away from one another, but are often a world apart.

Joe W. Brown Pool Reopens After Repairs

NEW ORLEANS, LA- Today, the Joe W. Brown Pool reopened after being closed for repairs. Shuttle service between the Treme Recreation Center at 900 N. Villere St. and the Joe W. Brown Pool has also resumed. The complimentary weekday shuttle will depart from the Treme Recreation Center on Monday through Thursday at 5:15 p.m. and bring riders to the Joe W. Brown pool for Fit & Flex class, which is held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The shuttle will return riders to Treme after class.
