Friday, May 22nd, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, along with department leadership, hosted a teleconferenece for neighborhood association and community leaders to offer updates about recreation this summer.

The City Hall Spotlight series aims to showcase the amazing work from some of the City's most dedicated public servants. For the August feature, meet Tiffany Aidoo, Program Manager at NOLA for Life and the force behind the highly successful Midnight Basketball program. 

The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) mission is to advance the physical, mental, and social well-being of New Orleanians by providing safe and welcoming environments for recreational, athletic, and cultural experiences. We believe a great way to do this is by sharing a movie, popcorn, and refreshments with your neighbors at the park!

In this month's neighborhood spotlight, Cynthia Harris, president of the Zion City Preservation Association, shares her longtime connection to Zion City, her experience creating a neighborhood association, and some very unique successes, including the creation of a neighborhood maintenance crew.

The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) is listening, working and moving forward with you!  NORDC will host an Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Sanchez Center to share information about opportunities for NORDC partnerships for the Spring Season (January-May 2016).
