A few years back, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) and the Neighborhood Engagement Office teamed up to develop a neighborhood participation program for NORDC in order to encourage residents to participate in the betterment of our parks and recreation.  Now, NORDC hosts 15 Community Advisory Teams--3 in each Council District--made up of community members who provide recommendations and feedback to NORDC on a selection of parks in their respective areas.

Each Community Advisory Team, or "CAT," hosts regular public meetings where they hear from other residents on issues, experiences, and ideas surrounding the parks in their district.  The Community Advisory Teams then compile this feedback into recommendations that are submitted to NORDC for review.  Serving as a member of a CAT is a great way to have a say in the recreation opportunities in your neighborhood!

We are currently accepting applications for membership on all 15 Community Advisory Teams for 2015.  There will be an orientation on January 27th at the Treme Rec. Center at 6:00pm.  For more information and to apply, view the NORDC CAT website.
