On January 28, 2017, veteran and the newest members of Police Community Advisory Boards (PCABs) completed an orientation and training. Held at the UNO Lindy Boggs International Conference Center, this event brought members of the community together with the leadership of New Orleans Police Department and the Department of Justice for an overview of the NOPD organization and the role of the PCABs in our community.

The Police-Community Advisory Board (PCAB) program promotes collaboration between the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and community leaders. Each of the eight police districts in New orleans has a PCAB board made up of seven resident volunteers who serve a two year term. Board members meet quarterly and make recommendations to NOPD on issues like public safety strategies, operations, resource deployment, and policies. For more information about PCABs, click here.
