Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 1:13 p.m. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a call reporting a ruptured gas line with possible persons trapped at the recently closed Entergy Power Plant in Michoud.

Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 9:01 p.m. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) received a 911 call reporting a fire in an unoccupied apartment complex near the intersection of St. Ferdinand St and Higgins Blvd.

The NOFD Responds to Barge Fire on the Mississippi River

Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:44 p.m. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a call reporting a fire on a barge near 3500 Clarence Henry Parkway along the Mississippi River.  The first of ten NOFD units carrying twenty-seven Fire Operations personnel arrived on the scene at 2:52 p.m. finding the engine room of a 150ft crane located on a barge on the Mississippi River on fire.
