The suspect believed to be involved in the March 26, 2015 vehicle arson at 701 Pine Street turned himself in to local authorities today and was booked with Simple Arson.

On Monday, June 15, 2015 the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a 911 call to 12151 N. I-10 Service Road; Windrun Apartments. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a sixteen unit building with heavy smoke coming from the outer walls and roof and immediately struck a second alarm.

On Wednesday, June 10th at 07:05am, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) received a call from New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS) reporting a person trapped inside an auto at the intersection of Camp St., and Poydras St. NOFD firefighters arrived on the scene at 7:11 a.m., finding an overturned pick-up truck on Camp St. that had fallen from approximately the fourth floor of the Poydras Center parking garage located at 513 Camp Street.

Tuesday, June 02, 2015 at 5:10 a.m. the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched from a 911 call reporting a fire in a dwelling in the 1300 block of Elysian Fields Ave. The first of nine NOFD units carrying twenty-four fire suppression and support personnel arrived on the scene of 1310-12 Elysian Fields Ave at 5:15 a.m.

The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) has been awarded $306,000.00 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The grant will go directly toward upgrading the Personal Protection Equipment (P.P.E.) of NOFD suppression members.
