MAYOR LANDRIEU, NEW ORLEANS POLICE AND JUSTICE FOUNDATION TO ANNOUNCE NEXT PHASE OF NOPD RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN

NEW ORLEANS, LA—TODAY, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation and New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Ronal Serpas will announce the next phase of the New Orleans Police Department recruitment campaign.

The City of New Orleans, in collaboration with the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, launched an active recruitment campaign called “Get Behind the Badge” in 2013. Today, job seekers can apply online for the police department and learn about the entire recruitment process at www.joinnopd.org.

NOPD offers excellent benefits including a competitive salary, 25-week state-certified law enforcement training; health, dental and vision insurance; and an excellent retirement plan and free life insurance. Applicants must be at least 20 years of age, have obtained a high school diploma or a state approved G.E.D.; and have at least 60 hours of college credits, or the equivalent of two years of full service in the military. The NOPD offers fast track programs for former military servicemen and women that allow you to earn an income while training.
