Traffic Fatality Claims The Life Of A 23-Year-Old Man In Pines Village

Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit are investigating a traffic incident that left a 24-year-old local man dead.  The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 A.M., in the 4200 block of Downman Road.       

The 24-year-old driver of a red Suzuki motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed Southbound on Downman Road when he struck the back of a vehicle that was also traveling Southbound on Downman Road.  The driver was ejected from his motorcycle and died on the scene.  

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the incident.                   

No citations were issued and investigating is ongoing.  

Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
