New Orleans Police arrested 25–year-old Latoya Francois for the murder of her husband, 27-year-old Clardie Ellis III. The incident occurred on June 7, 2013, in the 8500 block of Willow Street.
On June 7, 2013, Second District Officers responded to a call of a subject shot in the 8500 block of Willow Street and upon arrival, officers located Ellis lying on the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Ellis was pronounced dead on the scene by responding EMS Technicians.
Ellis was arriving at the home of his grandmother when he was shot.
Through the follow-up investigation, Detective Timothy Bender was able to identify Ms. Latoya Francois as one of two perpetrators responsible for the murder of Clardie Ellis III. An arrest warrant was obtained for Ms. Francois for the crime of Second Degree Murder.
On Sunday, January 19, 2014, Homicide Detectives and members of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Ms. Francois at an apartment complex in Gretna, LA. Ms. Francois was transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center and booked as a fugitive.
Additional arrests are expected.
