Register Your Surveillance Cameras with the NOPD

SafeCam NOLA is a NOPD initiative to enlist the help of community members in the fight against crime. Citizen-provided security camera footage is increasingly becoming an invaluable asset to NOPD, helping establish leads and identify perpetrators. By voluntarily registering your contact information with NOPD, detectives will know how to reach you if a crime occurs in the vicinity of your property.

Registering your information does not provide NOPD with direct access to your camera. NOPD will only contact you if they believe your camera could contain evidence relevant to a criminal investigation. Evidence provided by your camera could mean the difference between bringing a perpetrator to justice versus leaving a crime unsolved.

To register your surveillance camera(s), visit: http://safecamnola.com/.

Register Your Bicycle with the NOPD

Registering your bicycle is simple and easy. A money order in the amount of $3.00 is required, to cover the cost of printing the license decals. The receipt from the purchase of the bike or a notarized statement of ownership is necessary. The bicycle must also be available for inspection before receiving the registration decal.

We now offer the following options for you to register your bicycle with the NOPD:

--Register at the 8th District station, located at 334 Royal Street, by appointment (email jrwilliams@nola.gov  or 504-658-6722).

--Register at NOPD Headquarters, located at 715 South Broad Street, Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm.
