This evening, the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit is investigating a fatality that left a 49-year-old woman dead. The incident occurred shortly after 6:30 P.M., near the intersection of Saint Claude Avenue and Delery Street.
The driver of a 2001 GMC Sierra pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Saint Claude when he struck a Toyota Camry attempting to cross St. Claude Avenue on Delery Street. The driver of the Camry expired on scene. The driver of the Sierra was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Toxicology tests are pending and the Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
