Murder Down More Than 20% in 1st Half of 2013

The murder count was down nearly 35% in New Orleans in the second quarter of this year compared to the same time frame last year.  The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) released today also shows that murders fell nearly 21% in the first half of 2013.

Eight members of a local gang who called themselves “The Taliban/Hotglocks” were indicted yesterday on charges ranging from Public Intimidation to Second Degree Murder.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 58-year-old Michael Randall, who was last seen yesterday by his neighbor at approximately 11:00 P.M., in the 4400 block of Dodt Avenue.

NOPD Obtains Warrant for Yesterday’s Central City Shooting

(August 15, 2013)-Today Sixth District Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Terrance Carter, for shooting a 36-year-old yesterday in the 1500 block of South Robertson Street around 5:45PM.
