Eastern New Orleans Sobriety Checkpoint Yields Significant Arrests And Traffic Violations

NEW ORLEANS---   The NOPD Traffic Division conducted a sobriety checkpoint yesterday into this morning at the intersection of Dwyer Road and Downman Road. Among the violators were two brothers arrested for being in possession of a vehicle taken in an armed robbery in January 2015.

NOPD Investigating Lakefront Traffic Fatality

NEW ORLEANS—The NOPD Fatality Section is investigating a single vehicle crash that left a 29-year-old woman dead and injured an unidentified male. The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m., near the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Mexico Street.

Suspects Sought In Industry Street Carjacking

NEW ORLEANS---   The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating and identifying two unknown black males wanted in connection with an armed carjacking. The incident occurred yesterday around 9:15 p.m., near the intersection of Industry Street and Desire Parkway.

Crimestoppers Tip Helps Send Six People To Jail In Seventh Ward Drug Bust

NEW ORLEANS – Yesterday, members of the NOPD Major Case Narcotics Unit and the Fifth District General Assignment Unit arrested six people in connection with a drug operation that was being conducted out of a double home located in the 2400 of Allen Street.

Orleans Parish Sobriety Checkpoint

NEW ORLEANS- The NOPD Traffic Division will conduct a sobriety checkpoint beginning at  9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, to 5:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015.  Motorists will experience minimal delays and should have the proper documentation available if requested, i.e., proof of insurance, driver’s license, etc.
