The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office has coordinated the selection process for the first set of PCAB members for each police district. The first PCAB members were selected in Fall 2012. The initial members will receive an orientation training by the Department of Justice, the New Orleans Police Department, and the Mayor's office.
The members of the PCAB are comprised of citizens from their respective council districts and the eight (8) police districts. Each police district will have a PCAB that will consist of seven (7) volunteer community members who will serve a 24-month term vetted through an application process. Membership is open to all residents in the City of New Orleans. The seven-member advisory board will meet quarterly to discuss crime and quality of life issues.
