Fall 2014 Movies in the Park

Free family-friendly movies on Friday evenings.  The movies start at sunset (7:15-7:45) but come early for fun pre-show fun:
6:00  Field games
6:00  Learn the "Thriller" dance at Movies in the Park with dance instructor Kenneth “Kynt” Bryan
6:30  Fitness activities led by Fit NOLA Parks instructors

 

Learn the "Thriller" dance at Movies in the Park on October 3, 10 and 17, 6-6:30pm.  Then join us for a flash mob in front of City Hall on Friday, October 31 at 12noon. Led by Loyola dance instructor Kenneth “Kynt” Bryan the dance pays tribute to Michael Jackson’s iconic 1983 video.  For inspiration, watch WWL-TV's coverage of the City Hall Flash Mob last year here. external link

About Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park features family-friendly, free outdoor movie screenings at NORDC playgrounds for residents across the City.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to visit with family and friends and participate in “Move before the Movie,” fun fitness activities with instructors from the Fit NOLA Parks program.

Movies in the Park is free and open to the public. Movie goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics.  Proceeds from concessions sales support the mission of the host organizations.

Movies in the Park events are free & open to the public. They are not intended for private showings.

Event security & staff hold the right to deny admittance and remove patrons.

Participants may bring blankets or lawn chairs. Bug spray is optional.

Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, and weapons are prohibited.

Movies in the Park events are smoke-free environments.

No cooking or grilling on the premises.

Cooler/bags and snacks are allowed, but subject to search.

Tents or any other objects that would obstruct the view of others are prohibited.

No reserved seating. First-come, first-serve basis.

Movies may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances.
