NORDC Teen Council 2014-15 Kick-off Meeting
Saturday, August 30, 12noon - 2pm
Joe W. Brown Recreation Center, 5601 Read Blvd

Open to all New Orleans youth between the ages of 12 and 17.

• Learn all you need to know about Teen Council
• Start planning our future events
• Meet your fellow Council members

Parents are welcome. Lunch will be provided. Transportation is available.  RSVP by calling 504-265-6832.

Hang around for the New Orleans Experience Back To School  Supply Giveaway featuring special guests, activities and a school supply giveaway.

The mission of the NORDC Teen Council is to empower young people, ages 12-17, by developing a social growth environment through structured NORDC Teen Programs.  These emerging leaders actively participate in civic and community engagement by designing and implementing city-wide teen programming.   

The Teen Council is supported by Chevron.

Chevron Future Leaders 

The Chevron Future Leaders program offers an array of monthly learning activities, events and trips for select Teen Council members.  The program is designed to support skills development and enable early career exploration. In order to remain in the Chevron Future Leaders program and receive rewards, students must continue to meet GPA, school attendance, and leadership behavior requirements throughout the school year.

Chevron Future Leaders Culmination Ceremony

  • Event was held in May at the City Park Parkview Terrace
  • 70 Teens and parents attended
  • The 2013-2014 activities and experiences were recapped
  • 6 seniors recieved Samsung Galaxy Tablets
  • Others recieved engraved portofolios
