Teen Council Monthly Meetings 
Meetings are on held on Saturdays, 12-3pm at Gernon Brown Rec Center. Guests are welcome to attend.

Teen Council Special Events
The following special events are produced by Teen Council members and are free to NOLA residents ages 12-17. Please contact us regarding transportation to and from these events.
 
Bowling Night  Aug. 21, 7-10pm at AMF All-Star Lanes 3640 Williams Blvd.
Back-to-School Pool Party  Sept. 26, 6-9pm at Sanchez Multi-Purpose Center 
Halloween Dance  Oct. 30, 7-10pm at Gernon Brown Rec Center
Movie Night  Nov. 20, 7-10p at Sanchez Multi-Purpose Center 
Holiday Spectacular  Dec. 18, 7-10p at Gernon Brown Rec Center
Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball  Jan. 2016

 

About the NORDC Teen Council “By Teens. For Teens.”

  • Are you 12-17 years old?
  • Do you live in Orleans Parish?
  • Are you a teen looking for things to do on evenings and weekend?  
  • Are you ready to step forward with ideas and commit to making a difference?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Teen Council wants you!

The NORDC Teen Council empowers young people, ages 12-17, by developing a social growth environment through structured NORDC Teen Programs. These emerging leaders actively participate in civic and community engagement by designing and implementing city-wide teen programming including recreational events, social action projects and community service.

Chevron Future Leaders 

The Chevron Future Leaders program offers an array of monthly learning activities, events and trips for select Teen Council members.  The program is designed to support skills development and enable early career exploration. In order to remain in the Chevron Future Leaders program and receive rewards, students must continue to meet GPA, school attendance, and leadership behavior requirements throughout the school year.
