Volunteer & Donation Opportunities

DISTRIBUTION POINTS

The following organizations are active distribution points for non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, and toiletries.  

City Church of New Orleans
WHERE: 13123 I- 10 Service Road, New Orleans, LA 70128

Household of Faith
WHERE: 9300 1-10 Service Road
WHEN: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

All volunteers are encouraged to arrive in pants and work clothes and wear closed toe shoes.

City Church of New Orleans
City Church of New Orleans will be dispatching teams to neighborhoods to clean up debris.
WHEN: Monday– Friday from 10 am – 4 pm 
WHERE: 13123 I-10 Service Rd.
HOW: Volunteers can sign up at citychurchno.com. City Church is also taking walk-up volunteers every morning at 9 am. Volunteers interested in assisting with community relief efforts are asked to bring tools such as crowbars, shovels, work gloves etc. Arrive in pants and work clothes. Wear closed toe shoes.

New Orleans Habitat For Humanity
New Orleans Habitat For Humanity is seeking volunteers debris cleanup and roof tarping.
WHERE: 2900 Elysian Fields Ave.
WHEN: Monday - Friday

United Way, in partnership with HandsOn New Orleans
United Way and HandsOn New Orleans is seeking volunteers to help clear debris and pack up homes of impacted New Orleans East residents.
HOW: Advance sign up preferred at unitedwaysela.org/tornadorelief

NOLA Tree Project, in partnership with Team Rubicon 
NOLA Tree Project and Team Rubicon have partnered to assist the affected homes and families in New Orleans East. Team Rubicon is tarping roofs, and conducting heavy equipment work. NOLA Tree Project is taking volunteers to assist with cleaning debris.
WHEN: Friday, Feb. 24
HOW: Volunteers are encouraged to sign up here to learn more information.

SBP
SBP is conducting immediate cleanup of debris and data collection to complement recovery efforts.
WHEN:  Tuesday, Feb. 21 – Friday, Feb. 24
HOW: Volunteers should sign up here.

ACCEPTING DONATIONS

The organizations below are actively accepting donations of the following items:
Cleaning supplies, i.e. contractor bags, push brooms, wheel barrows, work gloves, bleach, etc. as well as toiletries and non-perishable food items.

United Way HandsOn Volunteer Center
WHERE: 2515 Canal St.
WHEN: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Second Harvest Food Bank
WHERE: 700 Edwards Ave., Harvey LA; Any Rouse’s Supermarket
WHEN: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
