Partners in Preparedness

Every day organizations across the City, State and Federal government work together to keep New Orleans citizens and visitors as safe and prepared as possible in the case of a disaster.  Partners in preparedness include:

The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP)

The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness enhances the City of New Orleans' capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from major emergencies and disasters by coordinating the City's emergency management programs, overseeing large-scale events, planning response systems for large-scale emergencies, and educating the public on disaster planning and preparedness.  Learn more.

Every day men and women across the City respond to and plan for emergencies on all scales.  These are our first responders, who come from the following agencies:
