JOB 1

JOB1 is the City of New Orleans' office of workforce development. Its purpose is to identify and align the supply of workers in our city with the needs of growing businesses. Through a combination of monitoring the needs of a knowledge-based economy, to providing career counseling and training, JOB1 leverages the capabilities of our citizens to fill necessary position while working with local businesses to customize training, screen applicants and help forecast future demand.

Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Program

Special funding is available for Training, Information, Development and Employment (TIDE) for employers and workers affected by the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.

Who is eligible:
  • Employers whose business has been impacted by the oil spill.
  • Workers and family members whose family livelihood was affected by the oil spill.
  • Anyone impacted by the oil spill who is interested in starting their own business.
