The 8th District coverage responsibilities include patrol of areas such as the French Quarter and Central Business District. Harrah's Casino, Canal Place and Bourbon Street are located in the 8th Police District.

COPS8 is a citizen’s organization for Police support in the8th District. Its mission is to support the 8th District Law Enforcement Officers by providing equipment and essentials necessary to serve the community. To improve morale by recognizing the efforts of the officers and the jobs they perform on a daily basis. This group is open not just to 8th District residents but to anyone who wants to join our crime fighting efforts.
