Board of Zoning Adjustments to consider amendments to its Rules, Policies, & Procedures

The Board of Zoning Adjustments will conduct a public hearing at its July 10, 2017 regular meeting, to be held at City Hall, 1300 Perdido Street, 8th Floor Homeland Security Conference Room, New Orleans, LA 70112 at 10:00 a.m., to receive public comment on and consider amendments to the text of its Rules, Policies, & Procedures.  These changes are generally related to the following matters:

1)General updates and minor reorganization of the document to provide for clarity;

2)Reconciliation of inconsistencies with language in the newly adopted Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance;

3)Updates for consistency with changes to the Neighborhood Participation Plan (NPP);

4)Removal of a specific time to hear appeals of decisions of the Director of the Department of Safety and Permits and the establishment of a reporting requirement by the same to the Board on such appeals;

5)Clarification of rules on withdrawal, expiration of approval, and extension of time;

6)Inclusion of standards for Reasonable Accommodations:  

7)Other general revisions as needed throughout the document.

There are no general fiscal impacts associated with the amendments to the Rules.  A copy of the proposed amendments is available for public review at the offices of the City Planning Commission and is posted on the City of New Orleans’ web site at www.nola.gov/cpc.
