Office of Supplier Diversity
To achieve the goals for socially and economically disadvantaged businesses, the City of New Orleans operates the Office of Supplier Diversity. The Office of Supplier Diversity is the City's department that oversees certification, compliance, outreach, training and capacity building for local, small and disadvantaged businesses in the City of New Orleans. The office was created to help mitigate the effects of past and present social and economic discrimination by increasing the utilization of certified disadvantaged business enterprises in the procurement of goods and services by the City of New Orleans.
Information about the Disparity Study
On May 4, 2016, the City of New Orleans released a request for proposal (RFP) to obtain professional consulting services for the execution of a Disparity Study to determine if an uninteded disproportionate negative impact exists for businesses owned by people of color and women seeking contracting opportunities in both the public and private sector.
