Ebola Preparedness in New Orleans

The New Orleans Health Department has been working in conjunction with the Department of Health and Hospitals to make sure that all healthcare providers have the most up to date guidance on detection, treatment and prevention of Ebola.

There are currently no cases of Ebola in Louisiana.  There are travelers who are being monitored for a fever, but currently do not pose a threat to other citizens.

If you believe that you have been exposed or to report a suspected case of Ebola please contact the Department of Health and Hospitals Office of Public Health at 504-568-8313 or after hours at 800-256-2748 immediately.

We would like to remind everyone that they are more likely to become ill with flu, measles and other vaccine-preventable illnesses than Ebola!
