Description

The Judges of Municipal & Traffic Court are seeking a Law Clerk to handle the following representative duties: 

  • Perform legal research, prepare memoranda of legal research and related memoranda,  documents and reports
  • Maintain legal files and records 
  • Conduct legal work in support of Judges and the Court 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Must be a current member of the Louisiana State Bar (in good standing), and have at least five years  experience as a practicing attorney.  In addition, applicants must possess the following: knowledge  of research principles, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, skill in analyzing  and organizing research findings.         

Notes:  

Applicants selected for hire must successfully complete a background check and physical and drug screening prior to start of employment. 

Domicile Requirements for Employment: 

Must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of  hire.

Entrance Salary

$35,232.00/year.  Part‐time position, no benefits.
