Winter Weather, Jan. 12-18

The National Weather Service forecasts freezing temperatures in the New Orleans area beginning Friday, Jan. 12 through Thursday, Jan. 18. A mix of very light wintry precipitation is possible in the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 16, but no accumulation is anticipated. Residents and visitors are advised to take precautions during winter weather.

Project Assistant (Disaster-CDBG)


The Office of Facilities and Infrastructure is seeking candidates to fill the position of DCDBG Project Assistant.  This individual will be responsible for assisting Project Managers in the implementation of projects and programs funded through the City’s Disaster-CDBG Program.

Must provide assistance to Project Manager in facilitation of projects/programs through funding approval process with State and HUD via reviewing new applications and amendments, responding to audit findings, processing draw requests, monitoring of sub-recipients, reviewing vendor contracts/CEAs and assists with the development of final close-out report at completion.  Also, candidates must maintain project/program files inclusive of all relevant documentation.

Candidates for the position must possess excellent written, oral, organizational and project management skills; also knowledge of the rules, regulations, and interpretations governing CDBG funded projects.  Must also have a minimum of one 1 year work experience in project management, urban planning, public administration or related field.  The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of HUD federal regulations, public financing, and principles of sustainability, smart growth and public-private partnerships.
